Avengers Campus Attractions
Web Slingers A Spider- Man Adventure
The famous Web Slingers ride features a unique and innovative ride system. It essentially takes you on an immersive adventure into the world of Spiderman. During the ride you get to put on some fashionable 3D glasses to help you defeat bad guys alongside Peter Parker, I mean, Spiderman himself!
The ride features you hopping into a moving vehicle that will fit up to 4 people, putting on glasses and shooting webs at bad guys using specific arm movements that the Web vehicle recognizes. To be completely honest your arms will cramp up.
You’ll be moving your arms super crazily and constantly for the duration of the ride and your competitive side will most likely take over as you try to gain more points than the other web shooters in your vehicle.
You can most definitely expect long wait times as this is one of the most popular rides. The wait times can range from 60-80 minutes on a busier day at Disneyland. Sometimes the ride will break down but we suggest you continue to wait in line as it will cause you to lose your spot in line if you leave and for the most part the ride gets fixed pretty quickly.
If you’re a true competitor or you think you could use the upper hand, you can also buy this item called the “Web power band” which basically gives some extra powers while you’re on the ride. What the Web power band does is, it gives you certain abilities using WEB tech.
The baseband gives you the ability to use multi-fire mode, meaning you can fire multiple webs at once increases your chances of defeating a ton more spider bots. The extra web tech accessories can power you to use electro-dynamic webs like spider man and repulsor blasts like Iron man.
It’s also pretty fashionable and looks cool as it lights up, makes some unique sounds and helps immerse you into the world of Spiderman. The band is going to cost a pretty penny but it serves as a cool souvenir and helps you have fun so we say its worth it!
Also, the virtual queue that used to exist for this ride does not exist any longer. The only way to avoid the long wait times now is to purchase the Genie+ add on for your park tickets. Since Web Slingers is now included in Genie+ you can then book your reservation and wait.
But keep in mind that a lot of other people will be booking reservations as well as they will want to skip the long lines so be sure to book early in the morning. You may only skip the standby line once per day per attraction so use it wisely with this ride.
Travel Tip: One thing to use to your advantage while deciding your genie plus strategically is to think about using a park hopper to map out which rides you want to ride and the best times to do so for each park.
Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout
This is definitely one of the most thrilling rides at Disneyland. The ride is basically the Tower of terror but the Guardians of the Galaxy theme. This ride is an elevator drop type of ride that will take you super high up and drop you at random. The ride is super thrilling between the exciting adrenaline-filled drops, the screams from everyone onboard, and the loud music playing.
An important safety feature to note is making sure that you are buckled in, as the inertia of the ride and the sudden drops combined with the ride’s speed will make you literally fly out of your seat, and the only thing stopping you will be your seat belt. You’ll also want all of your belongings secured in zipper pockets and held down with you, or they will also fly up from the ground.
One cool thing about this ride is that during Disneyland Resorts Halloween Season, it gets a revamp or a makeover, and you’ll get to experience a different version of the ride. The Halloween themed after dark version of this ride is filled with monsters and a lot of darkness!
Remember that if you purchase Genie+, you can skip the standby line for this ride once per day. It’s best to book your reservation for this ride earlier in the day as the reservation will fill fast since this is a trendy ride, and everyone else will probably have the same idea and try to skip the line using the Genie+ lightning lane feature.
