The Ultimate Guide To Tokyo Disneyland
Is Tokyo Disneyland Worth It, Compared To The Other Disney Parks?
As of now, there are currently 6 Resorts Available:
- Disneyland Resort – California USA
- Disneyland aka the first Disney theme park
- Disney California Adventures
- Walt Disney World – Florida USA
- Magic Kingdom
- Epcot
- Disney Animal Kingdom
- Disney Hollywood Studios
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
- Disneyland Paris – Paris
- Shanghai Disney Resort – Shanghai China
- Tokyo Disney Resort – Tokyo
- Tokyo Disneyland
- Tokyo DisneySea
- Hong Kong Disney Resort – Hong Kong China
When comparing Tokyo Disneyland to the other parks, it comes down to 3 main categories: Size, Rides, and Food.
Restaurants and Food: Tokyo Disney theme park, in our opinion, had the best food alongside its companion park, Tokyo DisneySea. Whether you love fantastic food, tasty and unique snacks, crazy flavors of popcorn, or yummy desserts, Tokyos Disney resorts have it all. Don’t start on Japanese food; we can go on for hours! ☺️
Size: Tokyo Disneyland is roughly 115 acres according to WIKI, and the total Tokyo Disney resort is almost 500 acres. It’s only slightly bigger than America California Disneyland and more significant than a magic kingdom in Florida. However, it’s tiny compared to the gigantic Shanghai Disneyland which is 225 acres.
Rides:
How Many Disney Parks Are There In Tokyo?
The Tokyo Disney Resort area contains two theme parks: Tokyo Disneyland, which has seven themed lands, and Tokyo DisneySea. In addition, the includes five Tokyo Disney hotels and roughly 19 nearby Disney-affiliated hotels.
Is Tokyo Disneyland the same as Disneyland?
Tokyo Disney is more or less quite similar to the other Disneyland resorts with many of the same attractions, shows, and parades. But Tokyo Disneyland also has rides like the Enchanted tale of beauty and the Beast, The happy ride with Baymax, and Splash Mountain: Get Wet MAX.
There are also fabulous foods, desserts, and drinks to try. This is the park we would most recommend for foodies. These are all of the reasons that make this park unique in its ways because it has things you wouldn’t necessarily find at Disneyland Paris or the OG California Disneyland, for example.
Is Disney Tokyo Worth it?
This question is somewhat subjective but if you love Japan and you love food, then you’ll love this place, of course, The main reason to visit besides the attractions and Shows is the food, desserts, and drinks. Plus the people are all super nice. The Disney Resort app for Tokyo is also more advanced so it makes the experience flow a bit better if you do rely on the app a lot as we do. All in all Tokyo Disneyland is definitely a must-visit at least once in your life because every single Disney resort is special in its own ways and that is especially true for this park.
What Castle is in Tokyo Disney?
The main castle in the park is Cinderella’s castle located in the center of the park. A new recent castle added as an expansion in Fantasyland is Beauty and the Beast’s castle
Is Disney Tokyo cheap?
The ticket price for Tokyo Disneyland is cheaper than that for the US parks. Beginning in April 2020 tickets can cost $76 per day, which is about $40 less than the cheapest trip to Disney World and Disneyland.

Which is the best park in the Tokyo Disney Resort??
While everyone has their own opinion, we personally loved DisneySea because after all, it is the only one of its kind in the world. Plus, we love ourselves some Italian vibes, and well DisneySea was designed after the amazing city of Venice. This is not to say that Tokyo Disneyland is not equally as amazing, but if we had to choose one we definitely liked DisneySea just a tiny bit more. Though DisneySea is our favorite Tokyo Disneyland is quite worth the trip alone just because of the amazing food, kind people, and fun Disney magic.
Best Time To Go To Tokyo Disney Resort
The best time to go to Tokyo Disney really depends on a number of factors. Some of these factors are weather, cost of tickets, time of the year (holidays, seasons, Halloween/Christmas festivities, crowd sizes, etc.), and if you plan on exploring the rest of Tokyo or Japan. If you hate the scorching hot super humid weather then we’d suggest avoiding the summer months between June-August. If you have kiddos and want cheaper children’s tickets then “Kids Summer Fun!” tickets are the best option for you as kids 4-11 are typically half the price.
If you love the Holidays and want to experience Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland then you’d want to visit between mid-September and the end of October. If you’d like to experience Christmas time at Disney Tokyo then you will want to visit between early November and December 25th. Likewise, for New Year’s Eve, you’ll want to visit from December 26th through mid-January. Crowd sizes at the park are typically the highest during holidays and summer months so to avoid long wait times or just overly busy parks you’ll want to plan accordingly.
Last but not least, if you are not only planning to visit Disney resorts in Tokyo and wish to further explore the beautiful lands of Japan or Tokyo then we’d suggest planning out the rest of your trip and finding things you wish to do to decide the best time to visit Japan and Tokyo Disney Resorts. For example, if you wish to see the Cherry Blossoms during the Spring time or wish to visit Mount Fuji on a clear summer day then just be sure to take those other things into account as well!
How To Buy Tickets For The Tokyo Disney Resort Theme Parks
Tickets are available for purchase either online or from ticket booths on site. However, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic ticket booths have been closed so the only option is to purchase online through the Tokyo Disney Resort website.
How to get there from Tokyo Station
Tokyo has an amazing transportation system and you should totally use it when exploring the different districts of tokyo after you’re done with Disneyland. You can get to pretty much all the Amazing Tokyo Districts such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, Asakuzu, Ginza and way more relatively easily when utilising public transportation!
Train:
Approx. 30 mins: Take the Keiyō line for roughly 6 stops and get off at the Maihama station. After getting off at the Maihama station you will have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to the Tokyo Disney Resort.
Car:
Approx. 20-30 minutes depending on the route taken and traffic.
